Privacy Policy

Last updated October 21, 2026

This policy explains what Jaro Pets collects on this website and in the Jaro Pets apps, why, and the choices you have. Jaro Pets is operated by Gyre Software LLC (“we”).

Being finalized for launch

This document describes how Jaro Pets works today. It is being reviewed before the apps launch publicly, and any change will be posted here with a new date.

1. This website

The website sets no cookies of its own. When you arrive from a campaign link, the campaign name and the page you landed on are kept in your browser for that visit only (session storage), and sent to us only if you submit a form.

When you submit a form we receive what you typed (such as your name, email, kennel name, website, approximate litters per year and your message), the page you sent it from, and the campaign details above. We use it to reply to you and to understand which pages bring breeders to us. We do not sell it or add you to a mailing list you did not ask for.

If analytics is switched on, we use a privacy-focused service that counts visits without cookies, such as Cloudflare Web Analytics. To stop automated spam, forms may use Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person is submitting.

2. Your Jaro Pets account

To use the apps you create an account with your name and email address. Sign-in is handled by Microsoft Entra External ID, which verifies your email with a one-time code and stores your password; we never see your password.

You can also keep an owner profile: your daily routine and preferences such as weight units.

3. Your dogs’ records

The apps store what you record about your dogs: profiles and photos, weights and growth, diet and feedings, health records such as vaccinations, screenings, certificates and vet visits, training, milestones, care schedules and daily care logs. For breeders, they also store kennels, breedings, litters, puppies, families, messages, updates and resources.

You decide who else sees a dog’s records by sharing the dog. Each person you share with sees only what their role allows (for example a sitter, trainer or vet), for as long as you choose. When a breeder sends a puppy home, ownership of the puppy’s record passes to the new family and the breeder keeps view access.

4. What is public

Every dog registered by a breeder at birth gets a Jaro Pets ID and a public record showing the dog’s name, breed, sex, birth date, the kennel that bred the dog, the dam and sire, and registrations. The record shows whether the dog is microchipped but never the chip number, and it never shows who owns the dog. The owner can turn the public record off.

Kennels that choose to list in the breeder directory publish their kennel profile and their litters with available puppies.

5. Email and notifications

We send email through SparkPost for invitations, messages, puppy updates and kennel inquiries. Every email except an invitation can be turned off, and each carries a one-click unsubscribe link. Email bodies are deleted from our sending queue after 30 days.

If you allow push notifications, your device registers with Google Firebase Cloud Messaging and we store its token to deliver them. You choose which kinds you receive, and can turn them off in the app or in your phone’s settings.

6. Payments

Breeder subscriptions on the web are paid through Stripe; we never receive or store your card number. Owner subscriptions, when offered, are bought through the App Store or Google Play, which handle the payment under their own terms.

7. Who processes data for us

We use these providers to run the service, each only for its purpose:

  • Microsoft (Entra External ID) for sign-in.
  • SparkPost for email.
  • Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging) for push notifications.
  • Stripe for breeder payments; Apple and Google for in-app purchases.
  • Cloudflare for website analytics and spam protection, where enabled.

Your records are stored on servers in the United States.

8. Your choices and rights

You can view and correct your records in the apps, withdraw anyone’s access to your dogs, and turn email and push notifications off. You can delete your account yourself, as the next section explains. To ask for a copy of your data, email privacy@jaropets.app; we will confirm the request comes from you and act on it.

9. Deleting your account

You can delete your account and its data at any time, in either of two ways:

  • In the app: More, then Account, then Delete Account.
  • On the web, without the app: on our delete-account page, enter your account’s email address and open the link we email you. The link works for an hour, and nothing is deleted until you confirm.

When you delete your account:

  • Your account and your sign-ins are deleted, so no one can sign in to the account again. Signing in later with the same email address or Google account starts a new, empty account.
  • Each dog you own goes to the dog’s co-owner, if the dog has one. A dog with no co-owner is erased, with all of the dog’s records, photos and certificates.
  • Shared access ends. You lose access to dogs other people shared with you, and your name comes off the care you logged. Anyone you shared an erased dog with loses access too.
  • You leave any kennel you belong to. A kennel left with no owner is closed: it is taken out of the directory and its families’ contact details are erased.
  • Your owner profile, your notifications, the phones registered for push notifications and any messages you sent us through this website are deleted, and emails waiting to be sent to you are canceled.
  • A breeder subscription paid through Stripe is canceled. We can’t cancel a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play, so cancel it in your store account first.
  • It happens at once and is final. A deleted account or an erased dog can’t be brought back.

We keep only these, each for the reason given:

  • Payment records. The amount, date, plan and invoice number of each payment, which we keep for accounting. They no longer carry your name or email address.
  • Email turn-offs. If you turned off an email, we keep that setting for your address, so those emails stay off.
  • Kennels’ own records. A kennel keeps its own records of the families it worked with, such as the family record a breeder made for you.
  • A hashed form of your email address. A one-way code made from your address, which can’t be turned back into it. It lets us give a free trial only once per person.

For a short time, copies can remain in messages waiting in our systems’ queues and in database backups. They expire and are deleted on their own.

If you can’t use either way, email privacy@jaropets.app from your account’s address and we will delete it for you.

10. Children

The apps are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

11. Changes and contact

If we change this policy we will post the new version here with a new date. Questions: privacy@jaropets.app.
